1. Information We Collect

Account information: When you sign up, we collect your email address and name (via Clerk authentication). You may also sign up using Google or Apple, in which case we receive your name and email from those providers.

Photos you upload: Trail camera images you upload are stored securely in Amazon S3. These photos are used solely to generate your reports and are never shared with third parties.

Payment information: We use Stripe to process payments. We do not store your credit card number, CVV, or full payment details. Stripe's privacy policy governs the handling of your payment data.

Usage data: We collect basic usage information such as pages visited and features used, to improve the Service.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

Provide and improve the DeerStats Service
Process payments and manage your subscription
Send you account-related emails (receipts, password resets)
Respond to your support requests
Analyze usage patterns to improve the product

We do not sell your personal information or photos to third parties.

3. Data Storage and Security

Your photos are stored in Amazon Web Services (AWS) S3 in the United States. Your account data is stored in Supabase. We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls. However, no system is 100% secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

4. Third-Party Services

DeerStats uses the following third-party services, each with their own privacy policies:

Clerk — Authentication (clerk.com/privacy)

Amazon Web Services — Photo storage (aws.amazon.com/privacy)

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data and uploaded photos as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and uploaded photos will be deleted within 30 days. Generated PDF reports may be retained for up to 90 days before deletion.

7. Children's Privacy

DeerStats is not intended for users under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on our website with an updated date. Your continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
